Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention.

"Being creative is seeing the same thing as everybody else but thinking of something different" -sherkejia,D.1990 (fr0m the lecturer slide)

The lesson 3 in class,is about the history of famous creative people, what is Creativity, novelty, innovation and invention.
There are too many arguments definitions for the word CREATIVITY, my view, creativity is an ability to create, think different from others although based on a same things. That's what in my view of creativity.Now, let's see what others say about it.
Howard Gardner, psychologist at Harvard University sayd, being creative means doing something which is first of all unusual.

Creativity is the process of generating new things which has it value,mean it is useful for people. A creation must be original and has it own values.

An example given in class, the Printing Press invented by the Johannes Gutenberg. The creation really give a huge impact to the society. The communities and society accepted and supported his idea make the creation more valuable. In short, The creation always based on the need of the people.
Innovation by definition to bring in new ideas or make changes(Oxford Dictionary).

So, What about novelty? i really don't understand what is novelty when lecturer mentioned the word in class. Based on the lesson, novelty is the quality of being new.
There are 2 types of novelty which is...

Subjective novelty: A perception of something as being new by a person or a group of persons.
Objective novelty: something new for all and its development for ages.

My reflection on this lesson...
Sometimes, people say being creative isn't easy. i think only lazy persons will say that.Now, i know what is creativity, novelty, innovation are.Those who take existing knowledge to create and invent new, we usually called them inverters.

Jackson Pollock, an well-know artist and some of his paintings who introduced in this lesson.
He's is a invent the a unique style of drawing or painting and influenced others. A good example for ART student.
~~~~~~~
Funny? it's a joke, but it do have its values. This is what i want to share this week. It is something can think about.Don't you feel sometimes it is hard to "clean it" for the older people.
Sometimes inventions come from jokes. take your jokes seriously and
BE CREATIVE and INOVATIVE!
