Some people are more in convergent thinking than the divergent or either one of it. I think it doesn't matter you are in which thinking. Both are requires in my life, my creative journey. It's just 2 theory to me anyway, as long i'm 'OUTSIDE the BOx', we usually called that creative.

Mind map have plenty of advantages and functions. A creative mind map able to create the interest of others and yourself because it's easy to read and not requires high level of language. Besides, it save a lot of times because it is easy to read to read if compare to a essay or paragraph. people always remember the colour and pictures more than the words.
